RUBICON Flame Retardant Low Smoke (FRLS) PVC Insulated Building Wires

Rubicon ISI marked wires meet requirements of IS 694 : 1990 .In addition to FR insulation, FR-LSH insulation offer Fire Retardant properties which also emits Low Smoke and toxic hydrochloric acid gas, in case of fire.

Rubicon FRLS Building Wires are premium quality wires with Flame Retardant Low Smoke properties. Oxygen Index of normal PVC Wires is about 23% while Rubicon FRLS Building Wires have Oxygen Index of more than the minimum 29%.Low Smoke Density of 40% helps in facilitating faster evacuation and fire fighting activities.

Application

Rubicon wires are recommended for all premium quality construction like ideal for use in densely populated areas:

  • Education Institution
  • Buildings
  • Theatres
  • Hotels
  • Houses
  • Complex
  • Factories
  • Power Stations
  • Underground trains

 Offshore and onshore platforms

Also used with UPS, invertors, battery, control panels etc. as well as areas where safety is a major criteria

Special Features

  • Excellent Flame Retardant Ability to Restrict Flame Propagation.
  • Low smoke emission, smoke emitted should obscure visibility
  • During Fire : Very less toxic Fumes emitted., so less injurious to health.
  • Self Extinguishing.

(True Computerized Sequential Marking: Rubicon make wires are available with progressive TRUE computerized SEQUENTIAL -MARKING, company name, ISI mark , CML number, size and voltage printed on our wire at every meter throughout the length of the 90 meter coil.)

2. This cable is an improved fire performance cablewhichmeets the following requirements -
i) Oxygen Index - Critical oxygen index, is an index to resist the combustion of cable in the context of oxygen concentration in atmosphere, andmeasures >29 as per IS:10810 (Part 58)-1998 & ASTM D-2863
ii) Temperature Index - It is theminimum temperature, required to combust the cable at an oxygen concentration of 21%, and measures >250oC, as per IS:10810 (Part 64) - 2003 and ASTM D-2863
iii) Halogen Acid Gas evolution - The emission of acidic fumes from insulation, being the route cause of corrosion, when measured quantitatively is < 20% by weight, as per IS: 10810 (Part 59) - 1988 and IEC 754 - Part1
iv) Smoke density - The visibility of light is > 40% as per IS: 10810 (Part 63) - 1993 and ASTM D-2843.
